My Garden Sculpted Birdbaths My name is Janet Kreis, I am originally from Willard Ohio, but currently reside in Dublin, Ohio with my Old English Sheepdog, Toby (Pocahantas + Toby = Pocatoby) and my miniature dachshund, Gracie. They love to help me dig in the garden and they enjoy talking to the squirrels (huh!). I love animals and have a deep appreciation of all wildlife. I belong to several animal and marine conservation organizations. Early hobbies included golf and over the years I have made many friends and have received countless hours of advice and tips on the golf course. Some of my best gardening tips were first discussed on the golf course and many of the plants in my garden were given to me by friends. To me, these are my favorite. I have always enjoyed art and my hobbies include everything from crocheting to working in clay. For the past eight years, my passion has been making concrete birdbaths.
“My Garden” specializes in unique one-piece sculpted concrete birdbaths. All are designed from nature and in a garden, look like they grew there. Each is sculpted around a piece of 3/8” rebar that protrudes approximately 8” down from the stem. The overwhelming popularity of the leaf-print birdbaths has been unbelievable. People love them. Some describe them as looking like flowers, others say they look like mushrooms. I received a letter from someone thanking me for a birdbath I had given her. She enclosed a picture of her garden and told me that, “it looks like it grew there”. To me, that said it all. I hope people keep enjoying them. |
